Oil Prices Sink to Three-year Low

Oil prices declined to a three-year low on December 2. Delivery of light crude for January closed at 46.96 dollars per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange, the lowest level since May 2005. Concerns were raised that American energy demands will further decline, as the U.S. National Bureau of Economic Research announced December 1 that the world's largest oil consumer officially entered a recession in December 2007.
