China Shenhua Energy Chairman Retires

Chen Biting, chairman of China’s largest coal producer Shenhua Energy, has reigned from his post, and the company's general manager Zhang Xiwu is expected to take Chen’s office as chairman. 63-year old Chen has exceeded the 60-year old retirement limit for managers of state-owned enterprises. However industry observers were surprised at Chen’s departure, as Shenhua is in the midst of a period of rapid growth.
