The Changjiang Maritime Safety Administration (CMSA) announced that a new set of navigation rules for the waters between the Changjiang Three Gorges Dam and the Gezhouba Dam will be implemented on January 1 2009. The CMSA has scheduled test sails on December 25. The announcement means that an approximately 45 kilometer-long stretch of water will have detailed navigation rules. These rules will improve water traffic conditions for the along this stretch of the Yangtze River.
