China's Power Demand to Rebound in 2nd Half

» China's power demand is expected to rebound in the second half of this year, but will keep declining in the first half, according to the China Electricity Council.

» The council predicted that China's growth of power demand in 2009 will be 5 percent.

» In 2008, China consumed 3,426.8 billion kWh of electricity, up 5.23 percent year-on-year.

» According to the council, the government will release a series of supportive measures to boost the power sector this year.
