Housing: Qi Ji, minister of Housing and Urban-Rural Development

» The central government will invest 33 billion yuan into the construction of low-rent housing, said Qi.

» China will also allow local governments to issue bonds to supplement the capital for building low-income housing.

 

 

Metal: Chen Yunxian, Mayor of Foshan City

» Chen urged the congress to increase export rebates for some metal products and aluminum alloys.

» Metal exporters are squeezed by declining exports, he said.

 

Transportation: Yu Rumin, the Port of Tianjin

» The Port of Tianjin will invest 12.8 billion yuan into infrastructure, said Yu Rumin.

» The money will be used to expand docks and to build a modern port facility.

» An industrial investment fund worth of 5 billion yuan will be set up for property development around the port.

» Shanghai Railway bureau will invest 60 billion yuan in 2009, said Wu Qiang.
