PBOC to Maintain Moderately Loose Monetary Policy

» The People's Bank of China, the country's central bank, said it will maintain a moderately loose monetary policy and guarantee sufficient credit to boost economic growth.
» In its first quarter monetary policy report published on May 6, PBOC said that although there are signs that that the government's stimulus polices have begun to take effect, private capital is still unwilling to invest, indicating that the basis for an recovery remains weak.
» PBOC also forecasted that prices over the remainder of the year will remain on a downtrend due to overcapacity, fluctuations in commodity prices and weakening demand.
