China Coal Energy to Build Chemical JV in Shaanxi

» China Coal Energy Co. will build an energy
and chemical joint venture project in northern China's Shaanxi province.

China Coal Energy will take a 30 percent stake in the 38.4 billion yuan project,
while Shaanxi Yanchang Petroleum Chemical Construction Co, a local chemical and
petroleum engineering company, will hold 40 percent in the venture, and X.N.Y.I
Group (Thailand) Co will hold a 30 percent interest.
» The first phase of
the project will have annual production capacity of 1.8 million tons of
methanol.
» It will also annually produce 150 million tons of heavy pyrolysis
residue, 600,000 tons of methyltrioxorhenium, 600,000 tons of polypropylene, and
600,000 tons of polyethylene.
