Finance Ministry to Auction off 26 Bln Yuan in 3-Yr Bonds

» The Ministry of Finance said it plans to auction off 26 billion yuan worth of three-year bonds on May 20.
» The fixed-rate bonds will be issued between May 20 and May 25 and will start trading on the secondary market on May 27, the ministry said in a statement posted on the official bond website.
» China's central and local governments are planning a massive bonds issue to help fund infrastructure projects backed by Beijing's economic stimulus package.
» The debt issues are expected to result in a fiscal deficit of some 950 billion yuan in 2009, a turnaround from last year's surplus.
