» John Kerry, chairman of the U.S. Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, said at a press conference on May 26 that US President Obama is dispatching a delegation to China in order to coordinate positions for the UN Climate Change Conference in December.
» The two countries' combined greenhouse gas emissions account for over 50% of the world's total and China has overtaken the US as the world's biggest emitter of greenhouse gases.
» The US has accepted the principle of common but differentiated responsibilities. But the fight against global warming necessitates the collaboration of all countries in reducing greenhouse gas emissions, Kerry said.
