China Spends 61.2% of 2009 Investment Budget

» The central government has already spent 61.2 percent of its 2009 investment budget as it pours funds into infrastructure, education and health care, the official Xinhua News Agency reported on May 27.
» Zhang Shaochun, vice finance minister, was quoted as saying that the central government has so far allocated 555.3 billion yuan.
» In March, China approved an investment budget of 908 billion yuan for 2009, up by 487.5 billion yuan from a year earlier.
