»An institute at Xiamen University confirmed on June 5 that they have developed a rapid detection reagent for influenza A/H1N1 virus.
»According to the test on an American A/H1N1 sample conducted by the University of Hong Kong, this detection kit can effectively detect the influenza epidemic strains. Its sensitivity is 10 to 100 times that of an ordinary detection reagent.
» An expert with the city's bureau of science and technology said that effective measures of prevention and control are important for early detection, quarantine and treatment in a spreading epidemic. The development of such a detection reagent will be useful for this purpose.
