China Urban Fixed-Asset Investment Up in Five Months

» Urban fixed-asset investment rose 32.9 percent from January to May compared to the same five months a year prior, the National Bureau of Statistics said.
» A 30.5 percent increase was experienced in the first four months alone. The bureau did not give a separate figure for May.
» Investment growth for the period has further accelerated compared with the 28.6 percent recorded in the first quarter, as more projects classified under last year's 4 trillion yuan stimulus program started to take in funding and begin construction.
