» China's commercial banks have issued loans totaling 13 billion yuan as of May 31 to help companies to merge or expand since the end of last year.
» The figure was released by the China Banking Regulatory Commission (CBRC) at a conference held on June 23.
» Bank loans have become a major financing source for mergers and acquisitions since December 2008, when banking regulators gave a green light to such loans.
