Fiat-Guangzhou Auto JV Car Plant to Start Construction

» Guangzhou Automobile Group Co. said construction of a car plant under a new joint venture with Fiat SpA will begin in August, the official Shanghai Securities Journal reported.
» The proposed facility is expected to produce 140,000 low-emission vehicles and 220,000 engines each year.
» The joint venture, which will take in investment totaling 4.3 billion yuan, still requires approval from the National Development and Reform Commission.
