Arctic Warming Raises Climate Fears

» Rising temperatures in the Arctic could affect a quarter of the world's population, according to a report from the World Wildlife Fund (WWF).
» The melting of the permafrost will result in the release of more greenhouse gases which are trapped in the frozen soil.
» Martin Sommerkorn, senior climate change advisor on the WWF's Arctic Program, said a warming Arctic is a global problem and not just a local one.
» World leaders will gather at a UN climate summit in Copenhagen this December to form a new international accord on fighting climate change.
