» Li Yang, vice president of Chinese Academy of
Social Sciences, said at a Sept. 8 financial and real estate forum hosted by
Caijing that the monetary policy should reflect the economic trend and
fine-tuning is expected.
» Li argued that a complete recovery of China's
economy was predicated on four conditions: the elimination of overcapacity, the
full revival of both private capital and foreign direct investment and the
efficient use of social investment.
» He added that some profitable programs
are limited to low-efficiency state owned enterprises and private and foreign
enterprises are kept out.
» Bank loans rather than stock issuance, which
impose heavy debt burden on them when their investment is experiencing a massive
increase, are the path for raising funds by Chinese enterprises.
