Employer-Provided Insurance Funds Raise Over 200 Bln Yuan

» More than 30,000 Chinese enterprises established their own employer-provided insurance system by the end of the second quarter of 2009, raising over 200 billion yuan and benefiting 13 million employees, according to the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security.
» The annual insurance fund yield climbed to 10.5 percent in 2009 from 5 percent three years ago, when the program was initially launched.
» The voluntary employer-provided insurance serves as a complement to the compulsory basic insurance system supervised by the government.
