Ping An Maintains Lead in Property Insurance Over China Pacific

» Ping An Insurance (Group) Co. said on Oct. 14 that it earned 28.8 billion yuan in premiums from its property insurance operations in the first nine months of 2009.
» Separately, China Pacific Insurance (Group) Co. said its January-September property premium income was 27 billion yuan.
» Ping An surpassed China Pacific on property premiums for the first time in July, becoming the country's second-largest insurer in both the life and property segments.
» The largest player in China's life insurance segment is China Life Insurance Co., while PICC Property & Casualty Co. dominates the property segment.  The two have yet to announce their premiums in the nine months to September.
