NDRC Bans Industrial Energy Usage Discounts

Commission said in a statement on Oct. 16 that it has released new regulations
on power pricing, which include a ban on special discounts for industrial users.
» Local governments and grid companies are no longer permitted to adjust
retail power prices or give discounts to industrial users, China's economic
planning agency said.
» On-grid hydropower prices will be set at half of the
benchmark thermal power price, while on-grid nuclear power will be priced at 80
percent of the benchmark price, the NDRC added.
