» The China Securities Regulatory Commission
(CSRC) will closely monitor trading activities on the Nasdaq-style Growth
Enterprise Market (GEM) to stop overspeculation and share price manipulations,
said Yao Gang, CSRC vice chairman.
» The commission has set up a supervisory
department to take charge of the monitoring and to punish the violators, Yao
said.
» The CSRC will not, however, intervene in the setting of initial
public offering prices for the first batch of 28 companies to list on the GEM,
he said.
