188 Companies Apply to List on GEM

» A total of 188 companies have applied to list on China's Nasdaq-style Growth Enterprise Market, the securities regulator said on Friday.
» About 70 percent of the applicants are from the electronics, new materials, alternative energy, biomedicine and other emerging sectors, Shang Fulin, chairman of China Securities Regulatory Commission, said.
» The first batch of 28 firms will debut on ChiNext on Oct. 30.
