» China's trade surplus is expected to reach
US$ 180 to US$ 190 billion this year, down from US$ 299 billion in 2008,
Commerce Minister Chen Deming said on Saturday.
» "We want to gradually make
trade more balanced. This year China launched policies to increase imports
despite the economic slowdown," Chen told a forum held at the China Europe
International Business School.
» China's trade surplus was US$ 135.5
billion in the first nine months. Exports declined 21.3 percent year-on-year to
US$ 846.7 billion, with imports down 20.4 percent to US$ 711.2
billion.
