Economist: China Should Maintain Proactive Fiscal Policy

» China should continue with its proactive fiscal policy and moderately loose monetary policy in 2010, a senior official with a government think tank said at an economic forum on Thursday.
» Fan Jianping, chief economist with the State Information Center under the National Development and Reform Commission, said the country should maintain its stance of "ensuring economic growth, adjusting the economic structure and guarding against inflation."
» He said that the government should set a target for its 2010 fiscal deficit of about 3 percent of gross domestic product.
