In surprising and dramatic declaration, Google announced that it might leave the Chinese market. According to the announcement, the three top officers in charge at the Internet company intensely debated the potential outcomes such a move would have on the company business interests, social and political pressures, and the ethical stance they claim they have been following for all these years. What is even more complicated, however, is going to be how Google will manage relations with advertisers and partners such as China Mobile and China Unicom.
Most analysts believe that, without Google, the search engine market in China will change dramatically. In spite of uncertainties lying ahead, all the signs point to the company determination to leave China.
