A 6.7-magnitude earthquake struck southern Taiwan (120.6E, 22.9N) -on the heels of quakes in Haiti and Chile - at 8:18 local time on the morning of Mar.4, 2010 at a depth of 6km underground. The whole Taiwan can fell strong quake and it is said to be the biggest earthquake ever hit Gaoxiong.
The temblor has caused power outages. Xinhua News Agency reports the island's high-speed rail service has been suspended. No injuries have been reorted.
