Houses were burried in the landslide

At least 17 were dead and 19 missing after a landslide in northwest China's Shaanxi Province, which occurred at 1:30 am on Mar.10, 2010.

Firemen are digging through debris to rescue buried residents

The landslide buried 44 villagers in 15 homes in Zizhou County. 17 were confirmed dead and the injured had been taken to hospital.

Rescue efforts are continuing.
