Obama ordered the creation of an "export promotion cabinet" in an effort to promote U.S. exports yesterday, Xinhua reported.
The Cabinet will include representatives from the State Department, the Treasury, the Commerce and Agriculture Department, the Small Business Administration, the Export-Import Bank, etc. The involved departments will come up with detailed plans as "National Export Initiative" and in six months.
Obama restated his plan in an annual conference of the Export-Import Bank that the U.S. is launching a single, comprehensive strategy to promote American export, with a goal to double the export over the next five years and create 2 billion new jobs. The President also named an advisory committee on international trade, called the President's Export Council.
