»Beijing police released its result of the investigation on sprite poisoning case yesterday. Police said a woman together with the man, the charger, was suspected to put mercury into a can of Sprite, Xinhuanet reported.

»Investigations showed Liu Xiaojing, 28, had secretly added mercury to a can of Sprite while having a meal with Ma Sai in a restaurant in Xicheng District, on November 7, 2009, Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau said in a press release Monday.

»The press release said Ma acknowledged that Liu had intentionally put the toxic chemical into the soft drink after he called police, but still collaborated with Liu to keep the poisoning secret.

»Suspects have been detained and the case is still under investigation.
