China's Online Gaming Market Up 32% in 2011

China's online gaming market rose 32.4 percent to 42.85 billion yuan in 2011.

»China's online gaming market topped 42.85 billion yuan (6.79 billion U.S. dollars) in 2011, a 32.4-percent year-on-year increase, said Sun Shoushan, deputy head of the General Administration of Press and Publication.

»Sun said at the 2011 China Game Industry Annual Conference (CGIAC) in Xi'an that domestically developed games with a revenue of 27.15 billion yuan, accounted for 63.4 percent of the total revenue, up 40.7 percent year-on-year.

»The mobile game market continued to display strong growth, increasing 86.8% year-on-year to bring in 1.7 billion yuan while the console game revenue rose 301.3% year-on-year to 61 million yuan.
